Description:
This is a Senior-level position for an individual with knowledge of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes for information systems. The candidate must have knowledge of Cyber Security, as well as Compliance Review, and FISMA regulations.
Duties:
- Develop and/or review Information System Security documentation.
- Initiation Phase - Risk assessment; identification of security controls; Assisting in preparing security plans; interconnection security agreements, and privacy impact assessments.

Serves as an organization's point of contact for all security-related matters and ensures organizational compliance with security directives and the DOE Headquarters Facilities Master Security Plan.

Assists with acquiring the appropriate security clearances supporting their organization.

Initiates, reviews and verifies in e-QIP all Federal or contractor employees that need to be considered for a security clearance
-
Assists the OCIO in the submission of the necessary paperwork for passing their clearances to attend classified discussions and meetings outside of DOE or for other agency/contractor employees holding clearances to be passed to DOE to allow their attendance at classified discussions and meetings being sponsored by the OCIO.

Provides security-related assistance and distributes information related to HQ security matters to members of the OCIO organization.

Ensures all employees appointed to security-related positions receive the appropriate training.

Additional duties as designated by the HSO.
Experience:
Required:
ü US Citizen with Secret or DOE “L” clearance
ü Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent training and experience
ü 3 or more years of security experience
ü Familiarity with concepts of Information Security Systems and Applications
ü Good written and oral communication skills
ü Ability to work well in a team environment

Security Specialist
US – Washington DC
Description:
Our client base is well-established and rapidly expanding in Information Technology firms and government agencies based in the Washington, DC metro area.
This is a mid-level position for an individual with knowledge of the information systems Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process. This person will work alone and/or with the security team.
Duties include:

Develop documentation and assess security controls for minor applications.
-
Develop documentation and assess security controls for major applications and
general support systems required for certification and accreditation.

Initiation Phase: provide support to the information system security officer in
assessing systems and preparing security documentation; owner’s designation
letter; security categorization letter; risk assessment; identification of security
controls; preparation or assistance in preparing system security plans;
interconnection security agreements and privacy impact assessments.

Certification Phase: provide independent support for the certification phase to
develop security test and evaluation (ST&E) plans: conduct ST&E testing, analysis
and reporting; recommend additional security controls; prepare Plan of Action and
Milestones (POA&Ms), and draft Security Assessment reports; certification and
accreditation letters.

Skills/Qualifications:
ü US citizen
ü Able to obtain a Treasury specific security clearance
ü Minimum 3 years of experience in IT, with 2-5 years of experience in Information Security
Required:
ü Complete knowledge of C&A process and NIST documentation
ü Bachelor Degree in Information Systems or CISSP certification
ü Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
ü Demonstrate ability to work independently when needed
Preferred, but not required:
ü Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
ü 2-5 years of experience in Information Assurance
